The Greenbrier - Aerial View Painting
History 1778-present: For most of its history it was owned by the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Railway and then by CSX Corp. In 2009 it was placed in bankruptcy. An entrepreneur, Jim Justice, bought the property and restored it to a 5 star status. Twenty-six U.S. Presidents have stayed here. It is situated around the beautiful mountains of West Virginia.
My history: I was fortunate to grow up near this resort. When I was a little girl, I took swimming lessons in their indoor pool. When I was in high school and college, I went to dances in the ballrooms; ate in their very elegant dining rooms; shopped at their stores; and when gambling was illegal, gambled in their casino...lol! (Gambling is now legal) Lots of happy memories
